UPDATING REVIEW

My 7 year old is in the freestyle club this year so we wanted a more park oriented board. They don't really make park boards this small so this was a great option. He ORIGINALLY loved the board and had no problem transitioning from his other K2 board. The mini shred snowboard quickly began falling apart. The bindings went first. Our warranty covered a new set of bindings which they sent over right away. Then the bottom of the board began coming apart. Warranty covered a new snowboard as well which came pretty quick. Then the bindings began falling apart again. We just purchased this snowboard this season. The customer service was so outstanding but unfortunately it can not make up for a lack of quality.

My kids was stoked to get his board, little man is spreading the butter with 3BT edges. He’s going build some great memories shred with the family. Anyone who say money can’t buy you happiness doesn’t own a snowboard.

Mini shred

I brought the 120 Mini shred and bindings, for my 8 yr old son, who is progressing well on it, iv been riding for 32 yrs, and was a snowboard coach for over 10 of them, iv ridden many boards over the years, and this one is well made, looks good, and seems easy to ride, the bindings are well made too, with plenty of adjustment, time will tell to its longevity, now I’m going to demo a disaster to see what this base shape is all about

Awesome Board

Fast shipping, my daughter is fan of the colours and graphics, board is light and easy for her to use. Seems great quality so far.

Adult quality packed into kids board

Many kids boards are ancient technology and low quality materials. Not the minishred. The 3bt profile is ideal for small kids. It helps turn initiation and prevents a lot of edge catches. The base on this board is fast as well. Top sheet feels nice. Both me and my kid love it!

not sure about the size

Hey guys, my son got Salomon Boa snowboard boots, European size 34.5, with an inner length of 220cm. Can they be used with your Minishred bindings? Should I choose size S or M? Also, is it okay to pair them with the 115cm long Minishred snowboard?

Basic bindings, hard to release

Nice and lightweight basic bindings. Buckles are very hard to release, and release handles are too small. Really hard for a child to open, even for a 10 year old. Love Bataleon gear but a bit disappointed with the Minishred bindings.

Minishred & bindings

Awesome board and bindings for my 6 year old. A step up from his Burton After School Special. You just can't go wrong with the team at Bataleon! Great customer service and top notch gear!

Little ones first bindings

Big kid bindings for a little girl fit her small vans boots in with a little padding.

Good bindings

Easy to adjust and set up - it only has two screws thanks a fan shaped thingy on the baseplate. Personally prefer this one over the Burton after school bindings because of the proper toe straps. One thing I noticed is that the creases on the two sides where the highback folds into can accumulate snow and it gets compacted into there with each folding/unfolding of the high back. Hence as the day goes on eventually the ice/snow in those creases need to be digged out (I just use a regular key to scrape it out and it takes 10 seconds). Not a deal breaker but just minor design issue and maybe able to sort out in the future years.

Good beginner board for the kid

My son loves it - calls his board Mike (pretty sure the graphic designer got some inspiration from Monster Inc). He is four this year and starting out this sport. He is very timid, and being able to catch less when riding down the fall line really helps build his confidence.

All You Need To Know!

Beginner boards come in 3 different shapes, my daughter has rode them all, and the Bataleon Mini Shred is hands down the best.
Your options are Rocker shape with upturned edges, like the Burton boards, which are very forgiving, but start to get squirrely at speeds and are pretty loose in the corners once your grom starts linking turns, this gets a little sketchy and somewhat debilitating as they progress from the bunny hill. Next you have a completely flat design, which honestly are most other kids board in the industry, some will say they have upturned edges and they are forgiving boards to learn on, but they are not, they are however stable at speeds and hold their edges nice, but for sure your kid is going to end up with some bad edge catches. Finally you have Triple Base like Bataleon's, which is the best of both shapes, stable at speeds and locks in turns nicely, but very forgiving on the edges. My daughter is 5 and currently on the 21/22 95cm Mini Shred. She hits jumps and boxes, black diamonds, and carves past most adults.
If you want to see all these shapes in action or ask more questions about getting your kid started, you can find us on IG @fromyerdad, but I can already tell you, this is the board that will take them from day one on the bunny hill and still be good when they start hitting jumps and exploring the rest of the mountain.

Perfect for the little shredder

Purchased for our 16 month old. Love that you can adjust them as they grow. Put them on a bataleon board. So far so good.

Awesome board

This is my kids second Mini Shred and he loves it. The 3bt makes it so easy for kids to learn to ride without all the edge grabs and face plants.
If you are looking for a a kids board, the Mini Shred is the only option!

Since 2017 up to present my son love's his board. The 3BT technology makes him progress a lot!. He said his like a surfer in a snow! from trees, open ground and parks it's super smooth!!! We've also notice that a lot of Bataleon riders now compared 3 years ago. 3BT logo and technology are epic!!!
