Pow

What’s this board’s natural home? Full send in the park? Elbows down on the trails? Or chucking roosters somewhere off grid?

Flex

6.0

Softer snowboards are easier to press and won’t kick your ass if you make a mistake. Stiffer decks are more stable at speed and super responsive edge-to-edge. Choose your poison.

Float Ratio

87

Maximum volume for surfy vibes in the pow, or a smaller surface area for nimble freestyle performance. This number is calculated with length, width, 3D shape and surface distribution.

Outline Shape

Directional

On our more freeride orientated boards the center base is at its most narrow and the uplift is at its highest this creates unparalleled float in pow super fast edge-to-edge transitioning.

Nose Sidebase Uplift

High

The gradual side base uplift in the nose determines how the board will behave on snow. most effected are the edge to edge performance and the uplift generated when riding powder.

Tail Sidebase Uplift

Low

The gradual side base uplift in the tail determines how the board will behave on snow. Any amount of uplift brings all the benefits of Triple Base Technology making our boards more versatile then others.

Camber Profile

Low Camber

Camber profiles are defined from low to high. Higher camber make for more dynamic boards that need to be ridden more aggressively to get maximum performance. Lower camber boards are smoother on lower speeds and in powder. All camber profiles run from nose to tail. higher is not always better...

3D Shape

3BT™ + Sidekick™

Combining the responsiveness of traditional tip-to-tail camber with the dynamic shaping properties of Triple Base Technology and the performance boosting Sidekick feature makes for a 3D snowboarding experience like no other.

Layup & Laminate

Tri-Ax
Lamination

Our three-way fiberglass weave is light, strong and crazy responsive. We use this to beef up the flex pattern on our more aggressive boards.

Woodcore

Ultra
Light Core

A 70/30 Paulownia and poplar blend that offers awesome strength to weight.

Special Sauce

D.S.T.
Super Tubes

Dual Super Tubes, a Super Tube on either side of the board enhances pop and gives the camber more snap.

Base

Ultra
Glide S

A premium, 7000-grade sintered base reserved for our high-end models. Packing more molecules into the P-tex means it’s super tough and hauls ass.

Layup & Laminate

Carbon
Stringers

Our tried and tested carbon layups. We deploy them in different areas to fine-tune the feel of each model.

Sidewalls

Solid Walls
Sidewall

We use tried and trusted ABS sidewalls for most of the collection. For the best flex to strength ratio.

At the heart of every Bataleon is a combination of 3BT™ and positive camber. It’s an innovative solution to the profile puzzle that minimizes the potential for edge-catch without sacrificing ollie power or carving performance. From this starting point, we fine-tune each element according to the boards desired riding style.

SideKick™ builds on the concept of Triple Base by increasing the sidebase uplift just outside the widest points of the nose and tail. The tips become more like a hull, boosting float in deep snow and slicing through crud. It also helps the board to roll quickly and evenly from edge to edge.

Supertubes™ are hollow carbon cylinders that are inserted directly into the core. They reinforce the camber, reduce weight and greatly increase pop. By varying their location we can fine-tune the board’s performance further.

5 stars for pow. 4 stars for all mtn/resort groomers. 3 stars for park

Disclaimer: I am 5'11, 195 lbs and purchased the 154 cm. I usually ride a 158 but was instructed by Bateleon personnel via email to go 5 to 10 cm shorter. I let my buddy ride this board and he gives it a 5 out of five and was more comfortable on it than I am. We are at the same intermediate level but he's a tad better and what's interesting is that he's 2" taller than me at 6'1, 170 lbs. You would think he would prefer a taller board but he was loving it and clearing all the jumps just fine. Maybe if I got the next size up, I would like it more? Or maybe I'm just not quite used to the width yet because it is a wide board. Or maybe if I dropped 30 lbs, I would love it as much as my buddy does. I don't regret purchasing it and I'm thinking of this board as a backcountry powder board to add to my quiver because it's really fun and turns on a dime! I love doing effortless slashes and throwing snow off the swallow tail. And in fairness, I only go twice a year being from Southern california.

Super fun board for Backcountry and powder. However, when it comes to hitting jumps at the park which is my favorite thing to do, it lacks the same stability as a standard shape board but in fairness, it says that in the specs and looks like it's at a six out of 10.

As far as bombing down the groomers, I give it a three out of five stars because the 3D camber bottom trips me up. It doesn't feel as stable as a flat bottom which totally makes sense logically. I was bombing about 45 mph and it started to feel shaky almost like speed wobbles. That's got to be attributed to the 3D edges on the bottom surface.

So to sum up, good board overall for me. Perfect board for my buddy who has no complaints.

It does everything

This is arguably my new fav board. For how wide it is, it really doesn't have any drawbacks. I'm 6ft, 225lbs and even on the 157cm - it's still very versatile, despite being such a wide board. It did take a couple days to get used to but regardless, it's so good at everything. Deep pow is a dream and I still confidently take it into the park and hit jumps with it. Don't let the shape fool you either, it rides switch perfectly. I can do switch 1s and 3s on it.

I suggest it 100% if you're thinking about it. Now I'm thinking about the whatever for next season 🔥

Crazy fun board!!

Decent rider here with experience on numerous boards. This is the only Bataleon I have ridden, but I am hooked on the 3D base shaping . I am 5'10, 200 lbs and went with the 153 cm. I really don't think I am missing the extra length I am used to. I have ridden on firm packed to boot deep pow days here in VT and I am very impressed with its versatility. I have been riding it more directional and stance one back from recommended. It is crazy how you cannot catch an edge.
Honestly, that is the thing that takes some time getting used to. Just send it and have fun! Awesome, fun, all around board. I may be trying to sell some boards!

Awesome board for any kind of riding

I love the party wave for riding on my own, and it’s great for teaching snowboarding too. It is a directional board but riding switch feels the almost the exact same as riding regular. Very nice taper on it and great side cuts for those chest to the snow carves. Over all, it’s a wicked snowboard!!
