Prone to failure/design flaw

Fast entry system works as intended; but these are prone to failure : the screw and counter screw that hold the ankle strap get looses easily and fall…lost 3 days of snowboarding because of this design flaw. Worst part is that very few shops carry Bataleon so good luck findings spare part. It happens in Chamonix once and NO shop there had any parts; ended up being saved by Zero G whom were able to fit Ride screw in there . I would NEVER brings these bindings in serious backcountry because it is a disaster waiting to happen.

Setting the Bar High

My FASE Blasters are simply awesome. They work beautifully on my Whatever board. Whether I’m carving or tearing through glades, I feel a perfect balance of flexibility and rigidity that I really enjoy. I have a set of FASE bindings from each Nidecker company but haven’t tried them all yet. Once I leaned to bend my knee before removing my foot from the binding, I stopped causing the ladder to de-couple. AuxTech on the toe straps is fantastic.

A GREAT binding”.”

I got these for my daughter. She tried them at Darkside in March of 25’. She rode Step On & straps. She likes how they’re simpler & lighter, you can wear ANY boot & have straps Step Ons don’t. It’s basically a traditional binding that’s 3X faster to use!

Terrific Binders, nice work Bataleon!

Great binders; like them more every time I rede them! They are responsive, flexible, & still comfortable . Rode Step On & Supermatics. I like how they’re simpler & lighter than Supermatics in addition you can wear ANY boot & have straps Step Ons don’t. It’s basically a traditional binding that’s 3X faster to use! I also got a set for my daughter who’s leaving Step Ons.

Love These!!!

I also have the regular Blaster Fase & I like these better. They are very responsive, slightly lighter, & still comfortable . Rode Step On & Supermatics. I like how they’re simpler & lighter than Supermatics in addition you can wear ANY boot & have straps Step Ons don’t. It’s basically a traditional binding that’s 3X faster to use!

These things F#{K HARD

& now they look even better doing it! My 2nd pair of fase & I’m sold. After spending the time setting them up & learning them they are noticeably faster than strap & WAY simpler than my Supermatics. Considering I bought a 2nd pair, I’d recommend them!!!!!

Solid binding with a great fast entry system

This binding is impressive in multiple ways, the stiffness and security of a traditional 2 strap binding with the speed of a step in (almost).

What I love about this binding is the advanced rider can enjoy the stiffness and aesthetic of the design, and the novice can strap in faster for easier practice laps.

Truly an all mountain playful yet no BS binding that should be in every riders quiver.

First fase

I wanted to try out fase bindings and these did not disappoint. I’ve put somewhere between 30-40 days on them and I’ve had zero issues. When I’m riding by myself they really save me a lot of time and you can strap it without stopping at all. Overall super happy with the bindings and I’ll be getting fase bindings for the forseable future. Just as good as traditional bindings only now you don’t have to mess with the toe straps which is just one less thing you gotta do.

Simply Lively

Bought a pair of these for resort riding on the east coast - so much strapping and unstrapping - and they did not disappoint. Took a few runs to get used to the motion for stepping in/out, and I unstrapped my toe a few times out of habit, but aside from that they are fantastic. Paired with my trusty Party Wave its been a blast.

On board feel is close to the Astro Asyms I have, albeit a bit softer. Note aggressive Posi-Posi riders may feel limited by highback rotation, but I didn't notice any issues at +24/+6. I'd love to see a locking toe strap, but not worth knocking off a star. These quickly became my daily driver and seriously contemplating revamping the bindings in my quiver.

Love these

I absolutely love these bindings. I have not had too much of a chance to use them in different types of snow but they are great with what I've ridden so far. I ride a 11.5 size boot with L/XL bindings and I felt no issues with sizing. They are the perfect blend of fast entry and two strap. They don't add too much extra weight either. Definitely weigh less than Supermatics. Just add more colours next season!

Amazing bindings, but with a major flaw

I have spent a few days on these bindings so far and have come to a few conclusions.

First of all, the toe strap is no where near long enough. I have a size 11.5 boot and the L/XL bindings and I am on the last or second to last tooth on the adjustment side of the toe strap (not the side you tighten, but the side that is usually only a permanent adjustment). From my understanding there is also no longer strap available to purchase. This is absurd. On the few days I have on these bindings I have had the toe strap randomly release on me 5-10 times (from the adjustment side, not the ratcheting side). I even had it randomly happen on the lift and had to have my friend fix it for me while being terrified of the strap falling off the lift as I needed to loosen both ends in order to re-engage the tooth while the board was hanging on by only the ankle strap. I have never had a binding that randomly releases on the adjustment side of either strap. I have only ever had issues with the ratcheting side on previous bindings. In my opinion, this is a MAJOR flaw and should be addressed via a recall and newly designed toe strap.

Now, onto the binding itself. The FASE mechanism is absolutely fantastic, but can be annoying. The ankle strap needs to be at the correct tightness otherwise it just flops down while you try to put your foot in and then you have to take your foot off of it, put the strap up in a spot where your foot can go in, and then try to put your foot in again. But if the strap isn't tight enough then it flops down again. And the problem is....THESE LOOSEN ON THEIR OWN THROUGHOUT THE DAY. Very very annoying. It's worth having a tool on your body to tighten these at least once during the day otherwise you will deal with this flop.

Another thing to be aware of is that keeping the toe strap at the correct tightness is very difficult. If it's too tight then you will not be able to step into the binding. If its too loose then when you step in it will just flop up above your toe and you will have to manually bend down and position the strap back over your toe and then tighten it. It was not often that I could actually step into the binding and only tighten the ankle strap before riding. I am sure I could get better at this with more time, but it's just something to mention. I would love if there was a way to permanently make the toe strap frozen in the right position for my boot, but unfortunately you cannot even tighten the screw enough for this. Another design flaw in my opinion.

In terms of performance, as I am sure everyone already knows, these bindings act just the same as regular bindings and therefore have every bit of performance of any other binding.

Overall, these bindings are a HUGE improvement over typical bindings, but they need work to become the go-to step in binding even though people already believe they are there. If you are looking to purchase a FASE binding, then go for it, but be ready for the flaws.

Happy! Great bindings, time savers

For all those seeking that bid of extra comfort. It‘s really nice switching in and out of the double bind quickly and without threading the strap anew each time. Very mitten-friendly too :P Best for those seeking serious milage cruising in a resort…
Just keep in mind that there are situations when it‘s tricky to stand put while trying to step in. It‘s possible to strap in while sitting too, but it takes some coordination and effort.

Best bindings

I love these bindings - just the right amount of flex, superb board feel and the FASE system is really slick.

I had some Supermatics before and they are a bit of a dead weight, and it felt like a flex-dampened area underfoot since they are pretty rigid. The Blasters with the mini-disc have a much better feel, and good padding - there's no sense of compromise here which is perfect.

Also as a speed entry / exit system this is the best balance, since getting in and out is really super fast. Very happy with them.

Great but flawed bindings

The FASE system is the real deal. Definitely a learning curve but ultimately a real time saver - not having to bother with the toe strap or sit my ass down every time I wanted to strap up is a game changer. I think it's the best system that balances convenience without sacrificing responsiveness or adding significant weight / cost.

Why only 2 stars? The ankle strap hardware is seriously flawed. Had to end my 3rd day with the bindings early because I got off a lift and found that the strap bolt had completely worked itself free from the the nut that nestles into the high back. To add insult to inury, the spare hardware kit that Bataleon provides with the bindings doesn't include either the bolt or nut.

I still had a few days on the mountain and found a repair shop that set me up with a generic hardware set that would allow me to keep riding but the next few days I noticed that the exact same hardware assembly was also loosening on the other binding as well but I thankfully caught it without loosing any hardware on the mountain and ended up carrying a screwdriver with me to tighten before each run.

I've never encountered this issue with my Burton or Union bindings (non-FASE obviously) and would tighten them maybe once a season. The tech and look of these bindings is awesome but I can't recommend them if they fail as bindings without constant monitoring. Loosing any days on the mountain sucks and so does riding without ankles straps.

Great Bindings

I’ve really enjoyed using these bindings. I first demoed a pair from a local shop, and after just a couple of hours on the mountain, I was hooked. They are a noticeable upgrade from my old Union Force bindings, with better overall performance and a more responsive, connected feel. I ultimately purchased them because of how they ride, but the faster and easier strap-in is a great bonus that makes getting going quicker and more convenient. I recommend them to anyone looking for a great all mountain binding.

Following up on my earlier review, the bindings are fantastic. Less stiff than the Jones Fase I had previously demoed. Not fiddling with ladders is a game changer. I rode the last three days in Colorado and never had to sit. I’m coming from Genesis bindings and the flex is similar. Get Some.

1st Impressions

Fair warning, these bindings are white and pink, not red. At least the pair that I received were pink where I thought they would be red. Nevertheless, they still look better than the boring all black alternatives. I have not ridden these yet but the components feel lesser quality than my beloved Genesis.

That said, this system works. Rode the Jones Fase system at JacksonHole with a bunch of skiers and immediately ordered these for a more all mountain freestyle flex. Not as fast as StepOn, but not having to get straps and ratchets out from under foot and together with gloves on/off, makes a huge difference. Step in, slide top strap and go! Taking these to hunt for snow in Colorado next week and will report back.

I 👍 like it

I had only one problem with it ! The binding on the feed you open a lot lose tideness at the screw part and I lost it . The screw and the counter part… I had to stop my riding 😩(angel strap)
I need some spare parts of it ! In the bag you seen are only screws and not the counter part
