Softer snowboards are easier to press and won’t kick your ass if you make a mistake. Stiffer decks are more stable at speed and super responsive edge-to-edge. Choose your poison.
Maximum volume for surfy vibes in the pow, or a smaller surface area for nimble freestyle performance. This number is calculated with length, width, 3D shape and surface distribution.
What’s this board’s natural home? Full send in the park? Elbows down on the trails? Or chucking roosters somewhere off grid?

New for 2021/22 and exclusive to the Thunder Bolt, we’ve woven carbon directly into the fibreglass for the ultimate in high speed dampening and tip-to-tail response.
Our lightest 80-20 paulownia and poplar wood blend for the lightest strength to weight ratio.
Dual Radial Super Tube. Hollow carbon core upgrades that are inserted into the core. The hollow carbon tubes greatly increase the woodcore’s pop and reduce weight.
The type and placement of fiberglass greatly influences a board’s flex and riding characteristics. Boards are built with a layer of fiberglass above and below the woodcore.
The fastest base money can buy. This base is produced with ISO-Sport 7000 black racing series and is what spandex-clad dudes have on their ski boards. No joke.
Triple Base Technology™ is awesome. The lifted sidebase areas at the widest points of the board make a lot of sense. The boards turn smoother and faster and it helps when you are not completely clean on your landings.
SideKick™ dramatically increases the sidebase uplift at the widest points of the nose and tail. This makes turn initiation even smoother, increases float in powder and handling of the board in rough terrain.
SuperTubes™ are hollow carbon core upgrades that are inserted into the core in 3 different configurations. The hollow carbon tubes greatly increase the woodcore’s pop and reduce weight.
We incorporated a flexible composite material into the woodcore along the 3BT™ crease points to dampen vibration at high speed and make your snowboard smoother in all conditions. Think of it as a top of the line suspension system for your snowboard.

Can’t go wrong with this board at all. Fast, stable. Hopefully we will get a ultralight version in future. I will definitely buy another one.
This board is incredible! Not only in the backcountry but also on the slopes. I never had issues with not having enough grip. The possibility the setting back the bindings is excellent. The snowboard is so beautiful that I mount it on the wall of my flat.
This board is fast and stable. Love the sleeve it comes in to protect it as well.
nice board.I haven't try yet, but love every board I bought from bataleon.
Buy it.
This board is an absolute blast. I must admit, I was concerned coming to the 3BT for the first time considering I thought it was primarily for powder only (my first bataleon) … False! … I ride the ice coast in the Laurentians, QC and this has absolutely no problem with what this area has to offer.
First day was wet with heavy slushy snow. Blew through all the chunder with ease. No chatter. Temperature dropped over night and it snowed. The next day was cat tracked groomers. If you know how to carve, this thing will completely bend over and hold a long hard edge. Makes turn initiation effortless, and once it’s dug into your carve, you will have heads turning - trust me. Following weekend was 25cm. Floats like a surf board in untouched fluff but can handle an icy scrapped piste into a pushed up mound of powder. Sidekick walls really do help with micro edge transitions to get out of hairy situations. Navigates the trees really well and can pop out onto the piste with ease. I don’t do park or ride switch often but it did both well.
Out of the box it felt flexible which concerned me, but the carbon layups keep the chatter down to almost non existent. The flex it does have helps make it poppy and the carbon keeps it in check.
6 foot tall, 175lbs. I got the 158cm. Experienced rider.
