This board is so fun. I've had a few other bataleons I've loved and this is no exception. The 3BT gives you the best of both worlds between camber and rocker. So much edge control when fully on your heels or toes (great for ice), so much surfyness when carving. This board will flex if you throw your weight into it, but it has so much snap and has that resistance that wants to come back to it's original shape. Also the base on this is so fast, I'm light so I'm always getting passed on the flats, but not anymore! I end up passing everyone even when it's been a few days since a wax.
This is the perfect PNW board. It has crazy float in pow for having a relatively normal board shape and for not having a huge nose. There has to be 12"-15" before I feel like I could use a more dramatic pow board. The shape though makes it super fun and responsive when having to deal with chunder, ice, heavy snow or anything else. I had a heavy/warm pow day at Mt. Baker the other day and this board THRIVED.
It's super nice to hit natural features with. It's so stable, I ride out of things all the time when I think I'm about to eat it. I can land in pow with my weight more evenly distributed rather than having to lean so far on my back foot like I would with other boards.
I'm 5'3" 115lbs and when I was buying it I was worried the board would be too short, but that's not the case. I do wish they'd make more sizes though, 144-148 is a huge gap.
This board doesn't really need to be set back to get float, I set it .75" back for normal pow days, and 1.25" back on really deep days. I've found if I go any farther than that it gets kinda hard to turn, but it may be different in certain conditions (steepness/lighter snow). But thats why I don't really understand the backseat inserts, they're 3.25" farther back from the farthest I've set it. You'd also have to have a pretty wide stance to be able to use them, and since they're 4x4 they don't even work with my Union disk.
Bottom line is I highly recommend this board for anyone who wants a pow board that can still handle all mountain conditions or vice versa. It's 100% a confidence booster, I've been snowboarding for 15 years and people still noticed the improvement as soon as I got it.
I'm a beginner, but this board has been awesome to learn and improve on. The graphic is gorgeous, and it's super light. Psyched this is my first board.
Parfait sur les pistes. Excellent contrôle pour des descentes amusantes!!!
Pictures don’t even do this board justice, it’s amazing, I love it
Just had my first day on the Storm, and it rips. It's stable as a boat, but fun and playful at the same time. It's got lightning speed and lightning edges , just as a good Storm ought to have. There's no chatter, even at high speed; the stability made it really fun to carve, but really every type of turn was a blast. It has great rebound, there's pop, you can blast over sketchy terrain even when you don't expect it, and it races the flats; I only needed skipole assistance once. On top of that, effortless pop makes piste tricks a dream, and riding switch is great too. My friends were blown away by my riding and I would like to hereby give all credits to the Storm. Have to test pow still, but my expectations are high now!
