This is a great all-mountain / freeride board. It's not super stiff but stiffer than my first board. The 6/10 flex seems right. The board floats tremendously well in powder and rolls from edge to edge easily on the groomers. The directional setback is perfect for CO powder/soft days. It's not quite as good as my magnetraction board in hardpack/ice but then again, those conditions suck on any board. The 3BT took some getting used to but after two or three sessions it's natural now. Definitely requires committing more of the entirety of the edge as the board sort of rolls onto edge rather than engaging from the leading edge. But this also makes me focus on turning more with your knees/hips/weight rather than lazily pressuring my heels/toes like a straight-legged idiot. The 3BT helps the board plow pretty well through soft chop and chunder but I notice a little bit of nose rattle traversing bumpy hardpack. It's directional and I ride it as such but definitely can be ridden switch when needed. The board is gorgeous in person, understated and adult. You can't go wrong with this if you're looking for a great all-arounder/freeride board. 11.5 shoe 185lbs and 159W seems right.
This board is sick. I already rode it last year at a test event and it was magic. I used to ride Omni but now I am in love with Thunder it feels a bit less like a traditional freeride board more like an I dunno everything board. It floats just as good as my Omni but it jumps better and feels more responsive somehow.
